The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in conjunction with the Southwest Region Steering Committee and the Kien Giang Provincial People’s Committee, have held a conference, “Cooperation to Develop Tourist Products in the Mekong Delta Region”, in Rach Gia city.
Present at the event were Lieutenant-General Luu Phuoc Luong, Vice Head of the Southwest Region Steering Committee, Huynh Vinh Ai, Deputy Minister of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Ministry, and representatives from agencies and companies.
Earlier, the National Administration of Tourism held a working trip to survey tourist routes in the Mekong Delta Region to study current tourist products and services, as ways to invest and upgrade them in order to attract more visitors to the region.
Tourist products, such as tourism infrastructure, resources and services, play an important role in attracting tourists to every tourist site.
The conference focused on rendering solutions to legal formalities, policies and orientations to promote tourism and improve tourism cooperation between provinces and cities in the region.
